I onced owned a 90 6-cylinder & had to sell it for my car to save on gas. Now I’m not driving as much I want to get a jeep again. I prefer the YJ 1992-1995. I don’t want a carburetor because they don’t seem effecient. Any advice for what to get or what to look for in a used wrangler? Is the 2.5L 4 cylinder too weak of an engine?I dont plan on wheelin it but I want to be able to take a good trail or I wouldn’t get a jeep.I want to buy one in stock condition because I know why people get their jeep’s built to take off road… they take them off road. What I mean is I trust the history of a stock vehicle better. Are there problem area’s I should look for or avoid in buying a used 92-95 wrangler? My old jeep was a soft top and I was wondering if hard tops leak after the seal is broken once you take it off? I dont want people thinking I am not a jeep guy,I know what I am getting into and thats why I am going back,I just was wondering what anyone had for advice or what to look for. Thanks!

Let’s say its a 4-cyclinder with a 2992 RPM, with a wheel diameter of 30″ and the gear ratios are 3.93, 2.33, 1.45, 1.00. 0.85 – from first to fifth respectively.

Does that information help at all???
Or do I need some more information to find the acceleration in each gear?

When I bought the jeep there were no problems with the rear windows coming out of the metal holding groove. Since taking the top off a few times the rear windows now come out of the groove constantly when driving… I didn’t think I was very rough with the top when I took it off. What can I do to keep the rear windows in place?

Its a 1995 model with some rust, but nothing to be repaired.

93 jeep yj Front end wanders/steering has play/9″ lift/39.5″ superswamper tires, 2 Skyjacker steering dampers. When driving around 40-45 mph front end wanders & steering is a little difficult & feels a little loose, power steering works easy when turning corners, i also feel a shimmy the faster i go

I bought a 1990 Wrangler a year ago. Like all Wranglers it is a rust bucket. It turns out that the front bumper is now facing straight up. I do notice that the front of the vehicle has also been lowered. The suspension has also deteriorated and I replaced the shocks right after I purchased it. Any ideas?

i have a 1989 jeep wrangler yj, im gonna lift it 6″ inches and put 35×12.50×18 on it but i dont know if the wheels i like will look good. if any one has any comments or any pics especially, please answer!!! thanks
